Helen Escobedo
Born in Mexico City, 1934
Helen “Elena” Escobedo was a Mexican sculptor and installation artist who explored ecological and urban problems through land art in her 50 years career.
Her monumental pieces made of industrial materials, such as steel girders, fibreglass, and concrete form surprisingly natural forms that integrate smoothly into the surrounding environment, while her site-specific installations usually included more ephemeral elements such as grass.
