Svetlana Fialová

Svetlana Fialová has completed a BA at the Faculty of Arts in Košice, Slovakia; an MA at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague; and a PhD at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. On top of this she has contributed with her work to twenty-five group exhibitions and eight solo shows in cities including Paris, Vienna, Budapest and London. In 2013 she was awarded prestigious Jerwood Drawing Prize. She was the finalist for the 2015 and 2011 Painting of the Year Award and the Art Critics Award of Young Painting in Prague, and was nominated for the Essl Art Award CEE. She works mostly with an ordinary ballpoint pen or creates monumental linocuts, combined with acrylic and spray.
