Francisco Castro Leñero

Francisco Castro Leñero was born in Mexico City in 1954. He studied painting at the La Esmeralda National School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving, part of the National Institute of Fine Arts (1975–79). He held a graphic design fellowship in Urbino, Italy (1976–77), and later received a grant for the production of lithography at La Esmeralda (1980–81). Since 1982, he has taught drawing at the National School of Plastic Arts, Xochimilco, at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He has taken part in more than 100 group and solo exhibitions in Mexico City and abroad.
