Fulvia Levi Bianchi

Fulvia Levi Bianchi, a prominent Italian artist, remains a somewhat forgotten name despite her significant contribution to the art world. A painter and member of the high bourgeoisie, she was a close friend of Lucio Fontana and Piero Manzoni. She gained recognition as a portraitist, capturing figures such as Farah Diba and Giorgio Armani. Her talent, long overlooked in Italy, has recently been rediscovered, most notably through the retrospective exhibition “Ab Ovo: A Journey into the Works of Fulvia Levi Bianchi” held at the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan, marking the tenth anniversary of her passing. Curated by her daughter, Francesca Levi Tonolli, the show offered a glimpse into Fulvia’s life and art, showcasing previously unseen photographs from family albums. Known and appreciated by international collectors, particularly in Los Angeles, Fulvia’s work was celebrated for its vibrant exploration of form and color. Through her private and artistic journey, she created a unique legacy in the world of contemporary art.
