Giuseppe Gabellone

Born in Brindisi, 1973 and lives in Paris, France

In his work, Gabellone explores the relationship between sculpture and photography, between two-dimensionality and three-dimensionality, between the image and its physicality, leading the photographic medium and the concept of sculpture on new levels of language. If in the years of its beginnings the artist’s work has established a deep relationship with the heritage of Arte Povera and post-minimalist sculpture – above all in the way of conceiving sculpture as a field of energy, transformation and temporality – in more recent years his work has been characterized by a more and more marked experimentalism both on materials and on the iconographic invention.
