Giampaolo Babetto
Giampaolo Babetto (Padua, Italy, 1947) is renowned for its experimentation and research in auteur goldsmithing. His pursuit of pure, rigorously geometric forms never loses sight of the jewel’s practical function — conceived as an object to be both worn and enjoyed — while his refined creativity leads him to combine gold with unconventional materials such as plastic and glass, employing avant-garde processes with great technical savoir-faire.
Since 1967, he has exhibited in Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, the UK, Japan, and the USA. His works are held in many important collections in Italy and abroad. He lives and works in Arquà Petrarca (Padua), in his house-studio nestled in the Euganean Hills.
