Davide Giannella

Davide Giannella (1980) is an independent curator. His research is mainly focused on the possible relationships between the art system and the different areas of the contemporary cultural horizon (cinema, architecture, design, music) as well as on the translation and declination, in different contexts and platforms, of projects and artistic contents. . He has also worked for public institutions such as the Milan Triennale (Junkbuilding, 2008, collective), the Marino Marini Museum (Glaucocamaleo, 2014, Luca Trevisani), the PAC of Milan (GLITCH. Interferences between Art and Cinema, 2014, collective) or for private galleries and independent spaces. For the Milano Film Festival he conceived and curated verniXage from 2010 to 2014, an exhibition dedicated to the liminal territory of Art Cinema, working with national and international artists. In 2016 he was Guest Curator of the MilanoDesign Film Festival for which he curated the Filter review. Since 2016 he has been managing the programming of the MEGA exhibition space in Milan, working among others with artists such as Diego Perrone, Andrea Sala, Gianni Pettena, Nathalie Du Pasquieur, Ramak Fazel, Piero Golia. For the Rawraw publishing house he curates the Paper Space Collcetion series. In 2018 he curated the project and the exhibition Incompiuto. The birth of a style on the occasion of Manifesta 12. Since 2017 he has been a member of the scientific committee of the Teatro dell’Arte of Triennale Milano for the field of visual and performing arts. For Triennale Milano he curated the program of exhibitions and performances Parla, Ascolta, Guarda, Fai in 2019 and 2020. In 2020 and 2021 he conceived and curated the review UltraDim. He is a contract lecturer at NABA Milan. He collaborates with various trade magazines such as Flash Art, Mousse, Icon Design, Rolling Stone, AD, NERO, Alla Carta, Cartography.
