Petrit Halilaj
Born in Kostërrc, Skenderaj-Kosovo, 1986 and lives in Pristina, Bozzolo (Mantova) and Berlin
Petrit Halilaj, who graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, has exhibited at various international institutions, including Kunstraum Innsbruck (2011); WIELS Contemporary Art Center, Brussels (2013); Kölnischer Kunstverein, Cologne, and Bundeskunsthalle, Bonn (2015), Pirelli HangarBicocca, Milan (2016); New Museum, New York (2017); Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, (2018); Fondazione Merz, Turin, (2018); He also participated in the 6th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art (2010); and in the 57th Venice Biennale.
Selected in 2013 to represent Kosovo at the Venice Biennale, Petrit Halilaj is one of the most promising artists of his generation. His oeuvre includes sculptures, drawings, performances, videos and installations that, starting from his personal story and that of his family and country, examine subjects connected with memory and collective history.
