Ayrson Heráclito
Born in Macaúbas, 1968 and lives in Cachoeira
Aryson Heráclito is a visual artist and a curator. He completed a mater Degree in Communications and Semiotic at the Catholic University in São Paulo, he became a Visual Arts Professor at the Centre of Arts and Humanities at the Federal University of the Recôncavo of Bahia (UFRB).
His artistic career is spanning from installation, to performance, photography and one of his main concern is the relationship between elements of Afro Brazilian world and its connection after the great diaspora from Africa to America. He has been receiving three nominations for the PIPA Prize in 2012-2015 and 2016, and he was honoured at Bamako Encounters – African Photography Biennial in Mali, alongside of many others important group exhibition he has been the curator of the 3rd Biennial of Bahia, and afterwards selected by Marina Abramovic to take part at the project “Oito Performances”
