Born 1977, Sydney, New South Wales; lives and works in Melbourne. In 1999 Susan Jacobs completed a Postgraduate Diploma of Visual Art at the Victorian College of the Arts after completing a Bachelor of Visual Art at the University of Newcastle in 1995. Jacobs has exhibited extensively over the past decade and her most recent exhibitions include Security Illusion, Margaret Lawrence Gallery, Melbourne, 2009; Hard Age New Edge, Sarah Scout, Melbourne, 2010; NEW10, Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Melbourne, 2010; Half Specific/Not Half Obvious, Gertrude Contemporary, Melbourne, 2011; and the 7th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art and 12th Adelaide Biennale of Australian Art, both 2012. From 2010 to 2012 Jacobs undertook a studio residency at Gertrude Contemporary, Melbourne, and was the Victorian recipient of the 2012 Qantas Foundation Encouragement of Australian Contemporary Art Award.
