Javier Marín
Javier Marín (1962, Uruapan, Michoacán, Mexico) is one of Mexico’s most acclaimed contemporary sculptors, with a career spanning over three decades. His practice centers on the human figure, exploring the creative process through the construction and deconstruction of three-dimensional form. Working primarily in sculpture, and more recently in drawing and photography, Marín investigates notions of identity, imperfection, and transformation.
He has exhibited widely across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, with solo shows at venues including the Place du Louvre (Paris), MUDEC – Museo delle Culture (Milan), The San Diego Museum of Art, Museo di Palazzo Reale (Milan), Les Musées royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique (Brussels), and Museo del Palacio de Bellas Artes (Mexico City).
