Jazzamoart

A visual artist and heir to the artistic tradition of Guanajuato, he employs a rhythmic expressionist language closely linked to music, human passions and everyday life. His visual improvisations and scenographies have accompanied leading jazz musicians. A representative of the generation of the 1950s and of Mexican contemporary painting, he has received dozens of national and international awards and is regarded by specialised critics as a prolific and versatile artist in constant evolution.

Jazzamoart has presented his work in more than 340 exhibitions across Mexico, the USA, Canada, Latin America, Western Europe and Japan. His work forms part of major public and private collections, and he has collaborated on numerous publications, workshops, conferences and LPs and CDs. He was a member of the National System of Art Creators of CONACULTA from 1993 to 2000.
