Joel Valabrega

Joel Valabrega is the Program Director / Curator at the Galeria Municipal in Porto. She holds a Master’s degree in Architecture (Politecnico di Milano and IUAV Venice). Previously, she worked with institutions such as HangarBicocca, Triennale Milano, V-A-C Foundation, as well as
independent spaces like MEGA and THEVIEW Studio. From 2020 to 2024, she served as Curator of Performance and Moving Image at Mudam Luxembourg, and in 2024 she curated the Luxembourg Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. Over the years, she has collaborated with international artists such as Tarek Atoui and Ligia Lewis. Beyond her curatorial practice, she conducts research, contributes to magazines, and is the author and editor of several publications.
