José-Manuel Gonçalvès

A degree in Social Practices, a start as a sports trainer, responsibility for a first venue at the age of 21, the promotion of French culture abroad at 35, the direction of a first national stage (La Ferme du Buisson) at 38… It is a singular path that has led José-Manuel Gonçalvès to the head of one of the current high points of contemporary culture in Paris.

Director of the CENTQUATRE-PARIS since 2010, director of Nuit Blanche in 2014 and 2015, Artistic Director of numerous exhibitions such as, more recently, a contemporary art trail Paysages Bordeaux 2017 and Panorama 20 at the Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains, the Artistic and Cultural Director of the Grand Paris Express has a protean curiosity. He is the Artistic Director of a contemporary art trail inaugurated in June 2019 as part of the cultural season in Bordeaux: Liberté!
