Geraldine Kang
Born in Singapore, 1988 and lives in Singapore
Geraldine Kang is a visual artist working with photography and installation. Kang’s early relationship with photography was extremely personal, relying on the camera as a negotiation channel for self-identity and private realities. She photographed her family rather extensively, and also worked on a project involving mental illness. Kang’s introspection has since shifted towards land-space issues in Singapore, using the camera as a way of understanding the mental, physical and emotional proximities towards a spectrum of concerns. Kang graduated from the School of Art, Design and Media, Nanyang Technological University. She is the 2011 winner of the Kwek Leng Joo Excellence in Still Photography award, and has also been featured at several international photography platforms. Kang has exhibited mainly in Europe and Singapore.
