Tamás Kaszás

Born in Dunaújváros, 1976 and lives in Szigetmonostor, Hungary

Born in the socialist model town “Stalin-town” (today Dunaújváros) in 1976, Tamás Kaszás has always had an interest in social experiments and utopias. He often works in collaboration, most notably with Anikó Loránt as Ex-artists’ collective, and with Krisztián Kristóf as Randomroutines. Ever since graduating from the Intermedia Department of the University of Fine Arts in Budapest in 2003 (where he received a DLA degree in 2013), his works have been widely shown in Hungary and in abroad. He participated in residency programs at Akademie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart, and Projecto 270, Costa de Caparica, Portugal (2008), at Futura, Prague (2009), and at the CCA Ujazdowski Castle, Warsaw (2010), among others; and in exhibitions such as the 12th Istanbul Biennial (2011, as Ex-artists’ collective); WHO TOLD YOU SO?! (as Ex-artists’ collective), Onomatopee, Eindhoven (2012), the 19th Biennale of Sydney; [silence] A Holocaust Exhibition, Ludwig Museum, Budapest (2014), or (im)possible! – Artists as Architects, Marta Herford Museum, Herford.
