Marek Wolfryd

Bro in Mexico City in 1989, Marek Wolfryd is a multidisciplinary artist who explores the intersection of artistic and economic narratives within the contexts of culture, history, and society. Working across a wide range of media – including process art, readymades, sculpture, installation, video, and performance – Wolfryd examines cultural movements and their aesthetic discourses, often delving into the micro-historical phenomena that surround major historical narratives.

Through long-term research projects, Wolfryd develops a conceptual framework that reveals the complexity of narratives existing both within and beyond the symbolic spheres of the Western world. His works reflect on and probe mass production, consumer culture, copyright, authorship, and the mechanisms of art creation and distribution.
