Martin Margiela is a fashion designer from Belgium, born in 1957 in Genk. In 1979, he attained his graduation degree from the Royal Academy of Fine Art. He started working as a designer for Jean Paul Gaultier before producing his own label in 1989. He is also famous as an interdisciplinary artist.
