Mayra Silva
Mayra Silva is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice is rooted in writing and photography, exploring language, time, and site-specific processes. She has presented solo exhibitions in Monterrey, Mexico City, and Paris, and participated in group shows across Mexico, Argentina, the United States, Spain, and Brazil, including at the Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil, Sala de Arte Público Siqueiros, and Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Monterrey.
Her work investigates the material and abstract dimensions of language through experimentation with publishing, error, and duration. Silva has received multiple acquisition awards and was a FONCA Jóvenes Creadores fellow (2012–13). In 2020, she received the Visual Arts Prize from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León.
