Nina Ceranic
Born in Belgrade, 1992 and lives in Venice
Born in Belgrade in 1992, Nina Ceranic has lived in Italy since 1995.
She graduated in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and is an active member of the artistic collective Fondazione Malutta.
Her research focuses on the theme of identity. Starting from work on her own family photographs, her interest has shifted towards photography understood as a device of memory and fallacy, capable of revealing the distortions and omissions that characterise every process of remembering.
Today her practice is founded on the interaction between gaze, photography and painting, investigating how these three elements contaminate one another within the perceptive process, generating a fertile ground for reflection on the way we see, remember and represent.
She currently lives and works in Venice.
