Park Hwayeon is an artist based in Gwangju. She is interested in the stories of the marginalized individuals and tracing histories of civil resistance, such as the 5.18 Democratization Movement and the Sabuk Coal Labor Struggle. She also curated an exhibition at the Gwangju Foundation for Women & Family. Through films, texts, installation works and exhibitions, she depicts the everyday life of her neighbours and their memories.
