Chantal Peñalosa
Chantal Peñalosa‘s work is invested in tracing small gestures of intervention within everyday life that function as ruptures capable of reconfiguring particular, quotidian situations.
These gestures principally focus along two axes: work and waiting in the socioeconomic context of Tecate, B.C. (a small city located on the geographical limits of Northwest Mexico). On both axes there exists processes of repetition from both a labor perspective – interested in the wearing and alienating repercussions – and a waiting time perspective that understands routine as a dialogue that appears unilaterally in order to interrogate the process of documentation and codification of these very ocurrences.
