Pietrangelo Buttafuoco

Italian journalist and writer. After graduating in Philosophy, he began his journalism career writing for Il Secolo d’Italia. A former member of MSI and AN, he has contributed to publications such as L’Italia settimanale (of which he was editor-in-chief in 1996), Il Giornale, Il Foglio, and Panorama. A finalist for the Campiello Prize with Le uova del drago (2005) and a well-known television personality (Il grande gioco, 2009; Questa non è una pipa, 2011–12), he served as president of the Teatro Stabile di Catania from 2007 to 2012. As of 2023, he writes for the daily newspapers Il Fatto Quotidiano and Il Foglio.

He is deputy editor of the journal Civiltà delle macchine and, in October 2023, was appointed president of the Fondazione La Biennale di Venezia.
