Randy Shull lives and works in Asheville, North Carolina, and in Mérida, Mexico.
He obtained his BFA in Furniture Design from the Rochester Institute of Technology, New York, in 1986. He has received a fellowship from the North Carolina Arts Council and a grant from the Southern Arts Federation of the NEA.
He has exhibited both nationally and internationally, and his work is included in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum, New York; the High Museum of Art, GA; the Renwick Museum of American Art, Washington, D.C.; the Mint Museum of Craft + Design, North Carolina; the Racine Art Museum, Wisconsin; the Gregg Museum of Art & Design, North Carolina; the Museum of Arts and Design, New York; the Black Mountain College Museum, North Carolina; the Asheville Art Museum, North Carolina; the Museum of Contemporary Art of Los Angeles (MOCA), Los Angeles; the Mobile Museum of Art, AL; and numerous corporate collections, including Fidelity, Wells Fargo, Piedmont Natural Gas, Duke Hospital, and the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts, among others.
