Rayane Mcirdi

Rayane Mcirdi is a young French video artist born in 1993. He lives and works in Gennevilliers.

His artistic universe is directly inspired by his personal experiences and the cultural environment in which he grew up. Cinema, music, sports, television, manga and video games have played a major role in his work.

The videos he makes paint a portrait of the suburbs, their youth and their preoccupations, both real and dreamed of, far from the stereotypes conveyed by certain media with a spectacular tendency and a significant part of the political personnel. Oscillating between documentary and tale, the artist reveals an existence full of audacity, disillusionment, hope and commitment.
