Pedro Reyes

Pedro Reyes, bon in Mexico City in 1972, where he now lives and works, develops critical discourses in dialogue with his audiences, creating artworks that activate and reimagine social spaces. He has founded several platforms for temporary artistic projects, and often conceives works that rely on public participation, generating large-scale yet ephemeral interventions.

Reyes’s practice addresses the intersections between physical environments and social dynamics, making visible the often-invisible geometries that shape human relationships. His design-driven projects propose playful, imaginative solutions to social challenges—examples include transforming firearms into musical instruments, convening a mock United Nations to deliberate on urgent global issues, and serving ecological grasshopper burgers from a mobile food cart.
