Rodrigo Mabunda

Rodrigo Mabunda was born in 1985 in Mozambique, where he still currently lives and works. He is a self-taught artist whose career began in 2015, when what initially was a passion and a break from his everyday job became his vocation and professional pursuit.

At first, Rodrigo drew on paper, but after discovering a discarded computer box, he decided to transform it. From that moment, packaging became his preferred medium. He gives a second life to objects most would consider mere waste, reviving them through his vibrant and powerful creativity and transforming them into art.

His artworks are included in the Pigozzi Collection, the Moleskine Foundation Arte, and several private collections. In 2018, he was an artist-in-residence at Artistic Residence in Óbidos, Portugal, and in 2019 at AKKA Project in Venice, Italy.
