RojoNegro

RojoNegro is an artistic collective formed by María Sosa and Noé Martínez, whose practice intertwines ancestral memory, bodily languages, and ritual technologies from a decolonial perspective. Through installation, performance, sound, and organic materials, their work invokes situated forms of knowledge, challenging processes of colonisation and their ongoing effects on bodies, territories, and contemporary cosmologies.

Recent projects include “Volví a ser vasija, volví a ser animal. Volví a ser planta, volví a ser tiempo” at MAZ, Museo de Arte de Zapopan (2024), and “Tepalcates de sueños”, an OFFSITE intervention by the Swiss Institute in collaboration with Seminario 12, Mexico City (2022).

Selected group exhibitions include “Cordillera” at Extra Galería (Guatemala), the Cape Town Art Fair with No Mans Gallery, and “Resilient Currents: On Communal ReExistence at Forma” (Paris), all in 2024. Their work has been discussed in Frieze and ARC, and has been presented in contexts dedicated to critical reflection.
