Marco Scotini

Marco Scotini is Artistic Director of FM Centre for Contemporary Art. Since 2004, he has been Head of the Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies Department at NABA, Milan. Since 2014, he has served as Head of the Exhibitions Programme at PAV – Parco d’Arte Vivente, Turin. Scotini was appointed curator for the second edition of the Yinchuan Biennale, Ningxia, China (June–September 2018).
Throughout his career, Scotini has curated more than two hundred solo exhibitions of artists from Eastern and Central Europe, Latin America, Central Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. He has collaborated with art institutions such as Documenta, Manifesta, Van Abbemuseum, SALT, Museo Reina Sofía, Castello di Rivoli, Nottingham Contemporary, MIT, Raven Row, Ludwig Múzeum Budapest, MSU Zagreb, and Bildmuseet Umeå. He curated the Albanian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2015 and three editions of the Prague Biennale in 2003, 2005, and 2007, among other biennials in Europe and Asia.
His project “Disobedience Archive” travelled internationally for ten years across several European countries, the United States, and Mexico. He served as Artistic Director of the Gianni Colombo Archive from 2004 to 2016, organising several retrospectives dedicated to Colombo’s work at international institutions such as Neue Galerie am Landesmuseum Joanneum Graz, Haus Konstruktiv Zurich, and Castello di Rivoli, together with Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev.
