Patti Smith

Patricia Lee Smith, known as Patti (Chicago, 30 December 1946), is an American singer-songwriter, poet and artist. An atypical and revolutionary figure in 1970s rock, she was among the great protagonists of proto-punk and New wave. Her great interpretative charisma and the evocative power of her use of words in her songs earned her the nickname ”the maudite priestess of rock”. Rolling Stone magazine ranks her 47th on its list of the 100 Greatest Artists and 83rd on its list of the Greatest Singers.
