Adam Szymczyk

A curator, author and editor, Adam Szymczyk is Director of the S AM Swiss Architecture Museum (S AM) in Basel. He was Director of Kunsthalle Basel from 2003 to 2014, and Artistic Director of documenta 14 in Athens and Kassel in 2017. Recent exhibitions include Life, Without Buildings at gta exhibitions, ETH Zurich (2022); Ahlam Shibli: Dissonant Belonging at LUMA Foundation in Arles (co-curated with Vassilis Oikonomopoulos, 2023); André du Colombier: A Lyrical Point of View at Museu Tàpies in Barcelona; and What Is Real? at Okura Museum of Art in Tokyo, the Art Focus exhibition of Art Week Tokyo (both 2025).
