Fabiola Torres Alzaga

The artist takes cinema and stage magic as the base of her project to explore the way we perceive, creating works that are not always what they appear to be. From simple optical illusions, her work changes depending on the point of view from the place we are ocuppying in the space in order to circumnavigate the pieces. With drawing, photography, video, cinema, sculpture and installation she plays with the thin line between the real and the specular allowing the viewer to see both, the mechanics of illusion and the illusion itself. In so doing, she demostrates that deception, perception and viewpoint are all components determining what is real.
