Hannah Weinberger
Lives in Basel
Hannah Weinberger is a Swiss-American artist living and working in Basel. She holds a Master’s degree in Media Art/Visual Arts from the Zurich University of the Arts.
She has presented solo exhibitions at the Kunstmuseum Solothurn; Musée Gadagne for the 16th Lyon Biennale; Centre d’Art Contemporain, Geneva; Kunstverein Braunschweig; Badischer Kunstverein, Karlsruhe; Schinkel Pavillon, Berlin; Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof, Hamburg; Kunsthaus Bregenz; MIT List Visual Arts Center, Cambridge, MA; FriArt, Fribourg; Swiss Institute, New York; and Kunsthalle Basel, among others.
Her work has also been shown internationally at institutions including the Marta Herford Museum, Germany; Kunsthaus Baselland; Kunst Raum Riehen; Vleeshal, Middelburg; Musée Espace Arlaud, Lausanne; Okayama Art Summit; Manifesta 11; Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art, Oslo; Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Zurich; Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam; Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia; Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen; Kunstverein München, Munich; and Kunsthaus Glarus.
From 2011 to 2013, she co-programmed the project space Elaine at the Museum für Gegenwartskunst Basel. 2018 and 2019 she initiated the Hidden Bar (Art Basel). From 2013 to 2023, she served on the board of Kunsthalle Basel.
She is a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) Academy of Art and Design in Basel, and a co-founder of the Basel Social Club.
