Willem Dafoe

Willem Dafoe is an American actor known for his versatility in both mainstream and arthouse cinema, he has been appointed the Artistic Director of the Venice Biennale theatre department for 2025 and 2026. A four-time Academy Award nominee, he has worked with acclaimed directors such as Lars von Trier, Wes Anderson, and Robert Eggers. Notable roles include Platoon, Shadow of the Vampire, The Florida Project, and At Eternity’s Gate. He is also known for playing Norman Osborn in the Spider-Man films and voicing characters in Finding Nemo and Fantastic Mr. Fox. Dafoe was a founding member of the experimental theatre company The Wooster Group.
