Xavi Bou
Xavi Bou developed an interest in the natural sciences from a young age, influenced by walks with his grandfather in the wetlands of the Llobregat Delta. He studied Geology at the University of Barcelona and later trained in photography, which allowed him to master techniques and cultivate the aesthetic sensitivity that would shape his artistic vision. After a 15-year career in advertising and fashion photography, he was able to apply his knowledge to his true passion: nature. His best-known project, “Ornithographies”, began in 2015 and reveals the invisible patterns created by the flight of birds, earning him significant recognition through international exhibitions and prestigious publications. The project also resulted in a book of the same name published in 2024.
Over the years, the project has evolved, increasingly integrating scientific components through collaborations with specialists. Bou describes his work as a balance between art and science, combining natural discovery with visual poetry. He is currently exploring new media such as video and studying other elements of nature, including insects. His aim remains to present the beauty of nature in an innovative and aesthetic way, bringing the public closer to art while raising awareness of the importance of environmental conservation.
