Joungmin Yi

Joungmin Yi‘s canvases seem to be somewhere in-between physical and mental, narrative and symbol, premeditated and accidental as well as figurative and abstract.
Joungmin Yi shows her critical sight on social deficiency including various mental diseases like Melancholia, Anorexia etc. beyond personal deficiency, and expresses the will for transcendence at the same time profoundly in her planes. And she also releases various works actively as a main member of artist group named Okin Collective. It derives from her attitude to accept the condition of life and work itself as a part of her practice.
