Mohamed Yousif
Born in Sharjah, 1953 and lives in Sharjah
Mohamed Yousif is a pioneering artist who has made invaluable contributions to the fine arts movement in the UAE. Motion and stillness feature prominently in Yousif’s works, where the medium also serves as a means for conveying meaning and perspective.
He has hold a Ph.D. in Fine Arts, from Manav Rachna International University, India, a Master’s of Fine Art from Webster University, Missouri (2000) and a Bachelor of Fine Art from Cairo College of Fine Arts, Egypt (1978).
Dr. Mohamed Yousif is one of the founding members of the Emirates Fine Arts Society, and Chairman of its Board of Directors for several terms. At home, he participated in all the exhibitions organized by the Emirates Fine Arts Society since its inception in 1979.
He has participated in a host of international art gatherings, including Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, Morocco, Syria, Oman, Bahrain, India, Japan, Italy, Spain, France, Lebanon, Jordan, and Bangladesh.
Dr. Mohamed Yousif has been the recipient of many artistic awards and accolades, including the UAE Honor Award (2009), and the first golden prize at Bangladesh Biennial (2004).
