Zélika García

Zélika García is the founder and owner of ZSONAMACO, the leading art fair in Latin America, which annually brings together international galleries, artists, and collectors during ZSONAMACO Mexico City Art Week in February, establishing itself as a specialised platform for the contemporary art market.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts at Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM) and began her career promoting art in various galleries across northern Mexico. This experience provided her with the tools to develop a platform dedicated to the exhibition and sale of art in Mexico. Since its inception, Zélika’s vision has been to position Mexico as a key player in the international art market, ensuring that Latin American art receives the same visibility and recognition as art from other regions.

In 2002, she launched Muestra, her first art fair, in Monterrey. The following year, she organised Muestra 2 in Mexico City, featuring 40 galleries. This event marked a turning point, positioning Mexico as a cultural market and evolving into what would later become MACO México Arte Contemporáneo.

By 2004, the fair had transformed into ZSONAMACO México Arte Contemporáneo, which now boasts over 20 years of history and attracts leading collectors and galleries from Mexico and abroad. Today, it is one of the most influential art events in Latin America.
