MACBA presents for the first time a show entirely dedicated to the minimalist and conceptual artist, featuring her first drawings and paintings as well as her well-known modular sculptures. Besides, “Drehflugel Series E”, a brand new production based on Posenenske‘s works she has never produced is on display.
The exhibition’s path focuses on Posenenske’s idea of mass-produced minimalism which is linked to the social and economic concerns of her time. Her artworks can change their installation configuration, according to the preference of the curator, visitors or collectors, making infinitive editions instead of a finite one.
This exhibition aims to highlight an artist whose minimalist and conceptual art remained mostly ignored in contemporary art history.
