Opened in 2011, Sesc Bom Retiro was designed by the architect Leon Diksztejn to host educational and cultural activities.

Sesc Bom Retiro is part of the Sesc network of cultural centres, which mean to act significally in the field of culture and its manifestations, to reach all the audiences.
Situated in the central district of Bom Retiro, its spaces are opened for art exhibitions, concerts and theatrical plays but also for sport and leisure activities.
As a result, it carries on an action of informal and lasting education with the aim to stimulate the visitors to enter in contact with different expressions and ways of thinking and acting.
