A Ilustração Como Porta Para o Mundo (The illustration as door to the world)

The exhibition traces on overview on international artists who were decisive in the history of illustration, awarded in the last 50 years of Bologna Children’s Book Fair. In addition, the show also brings a selection of 5 Brazilian artists, trying to portray the diversity of styles and visual narratives that marked the main trends of contemporary Brazilian illustration. The works, which walk through poetic, dramatic and political themes, explore the possibilities of the illustrated book, mobilizing resources of drawing, painting and graphic design, in dialogue with the written text.
