Kulturstiftung Basel H. Geiger – KBH.G
The Kulturstiftung Basel H. Geiger (KBH.G) operates as an independent exhibition space and administrative office situated in Basel’s city centre, in close proximity to the River Rhine and the University of Basel. Founded in 2018 by Sibylle Piermattei-Geiger and Rocco Piermattei, the foundation is named in honour of the Swiss pharmacist Hermann Geiger. Its primary objective is to provide a dedicated platform for art and artists that complements the city’s existing cultural landscape without competing with established galleries or museums.
The institution’s exhibitions often incorporate contemporary cultural and political references alongside topical artistic themes. These projects are conceived from divergent perspectives to offer an alternative experience to that of traditional institutions. The foundation aims to engage an enthusiastic and open-minded public, contributing a varied and accessible discourse to the local and international art community.
