Istituto Svizzero Milan
The Swiss Institute is an interdisciplinary platform that brings together artistic and scientific research.
Based in Rome, Milan, and Palermo, the Institute is dedicated to facilitating exchanges between Switzerland and Italy, as well as within an international context. The Swiss Institute offers residency programmes for emerging artists and researchers who wish to contribute to the future of visual and performing arts, literature, architecture, and the humanities, social, and natural sciences. The Institute also offers Senior Fellowships to established artists and academics, fostering interdisciplinary and intergenerational exchange within the Villa Maraini community, in the heart of Rome. By supporting new ideas and projects in artistic and scientific research, the Institute’s public programming aims to bring together diverse people and knowledge for initiatives such as exhibitions, talks, concerts, performances, workshops, and Summer School. Active since 1947, the Swiss Institute is at the forefront of global debates on art, science, and society. Committed to promoting forward-thinking projects, experimental practices, and excellence in research, the Swiss Institute organises both virtual and in-person events and envisions new paths to push beyond the boundaries of specific fields.
