Founded in London in 2010, VITRINE is an art space focused on artistic experimentation and emerging interdisciplinary practices in a variety of media, concentrating in particular on artists working with installation, sculpture and performance. Over the years, the gallery has gained a reputation for nurturing new talents and supporting original artistic researches, set in alternative environments. The art spaces are designed to be totally transparent: in London, glass windows cover the entire 16-metre-long, panoramic space; in Basel, the gallery offers a 360-degree viewing experience. This transparent architecture allows all exhibitions to be viewable 24/7 from the surrounding public squares.
The gallery represents a core group of artists, working at the same time with established institutions, and foundations. The gallery also founded the Sculpture At commissioning programme in 2014 and have an extensive portfolio of producing outdoor sculpture in both public and private space.
A second art space opened in Basel in 2016 and a third digital space launched in 2020.
