Founded in 2008 by Julien Cuisset, Le Laboratoire stands out for its commitment to the promotion of both traditional practices and conceptual aesthetics.
Le Laboratoire, gallery and art platform, is dedicated to promoting and supporting artists within the art world and art market. It also operates as an art consultancy group, responsible for forming various collections and cultural programmes.
As an open and inclusive platform, as well as an experiential and interstitial incubator, Le Laboratoire strengthens its programme, which is focused on and contextualised by the aesthetic-discursive practices of its artists. These practices encompass and challenge a wide range of disciplines, including sound art, drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, video, and performance.
The gallery is committed to working empathetically and over the long term with the artists it represents, fostering resonances between their bodies of work. It actively engages with the structural (diagrams, patterns) and perceptual (modular fields, visual reiterations) components of the formal abstractionist practices they explore.
