Pata Gallery
Pata Gallery was founded in 1987 by Mr. Hsu Tung-Lung. With almost 30 years of history, Pata Gallery has become a well-known gallery in Chinese Contemporary and Classical art. Pata Gallery has been a great collectors and promoters for many Chinese artists.
In the earlier year, Pata had been focused on traditional Taiwanese artist like, Li Shih-chiao, Liao Chi-Chun, and Shiy De-jing. Later on, Pata Gallery shifted its attention toward international abstract artists like, Chu Teh Chun and Zao Wou-Ki, when abstract works are still unrecognizable for Asian collector. In 2005, Mr. Hsu flew to Beijing to visit 789 Dashanzi. During this trip, Mr. Hsu enthusiastically visited over forty contemporary artists and witnessed the progress of Chinese Contemporary Art. As a result, Pata Galley has opened its first contemporary space in Beijing 798 in 2006.
After 30 years of progressing and evolving, Pata Gallery has become an unique platform for all kinds of potential and enthusiastic artists to perform. This platform will not limit on the age, education background and the race of the artist. However, Pata Gallery has a very serious screening process on the works that it is showing. The works itself have to be unique and original. The work will have to have a strong reflection and style of the artist himself and herself. At the same time, Pata Gallery has been able to establish a great collection of all major Chinese artist from Chu Teh Chun to Zeng Fanzhi.
