Giorgio Persano

Giorgio Persano opened his first gallery, Multipli, in 1970. Initially focusing on American Pop art prints, he began producing editions of works by Italian artists, including Michelangelo Pistoletto, Gilberto Zorio, Alighiero Boetti, Pier Paolo Calzolari, Giovanni Anselmo, Salvo, Giuseppe Penone and Giulio Paolini. From 1975 onwards, some of these artists began using the gallery as a workshop, creating installations and experimenting with new creative processes. Since then, Persano has curated projects and overseen the production of artworks, developing close working relationships with the artists he represents.

In September 2020, to mark fifty years of activity, Giorgio Persano returned to the city centre, relocating to Palazzo Scaglia di Verrua. The gallery hosts three to four temporary exhibitions each year across its two exhibition spaces: the first-floor galleries and the internal courtyard garden. Established artists are presented alongside emerging talents from the international art scene.
