Museo Bagatti Valsecchi

A historic dwelling in the heart of Montenapoleone area

Via Gesù, 5, 20121 Milan, Italy

The Bagatti Valsecchi Museum is a house museum born from an extraordinary collecting endeavour in the late 19th century, led by two brothers: the Barons Fausto and Giuseppe Bagatti Valsecchi.

Since the 1880s, the brothers dedicated themselves to renovating their family home, situated in the heart of Milan—a palace located between Via Gesù and Via Santo Spirito. At the same time, they began collecting 15th- and 16th-century paintings and artefacts to display in their home, aiming to create an interior inspired by the grand mansions of 15th-century Lombardy.
