Private Collections

Museum Frieder Burda I Salon Berlin

The space is a private initiative, which aims to both present the diverse aspects of the Frieder Burda Collection as well as to promote and support contemporary artistic creation.

Auguststraße 11-13

Opened in the fall of 2016 by Museum Frieder Burda, the Salon Berlin is located in one of the capital’s most vibrant art districts as part of the private collection’s generational change and under the curatorial direction of Patricia Kamp. The Salon’s cultural programme features exhibitions which include individual artistic positions from the Collection Frieder Burda, presented in a dynamic tension with today’s contemporary art. In so doing, the space of the Salon is not just an exhibition space that presents the history of the collection, but also serves as a site of encounter and dialogue. Salon Berlin would like to transgress borders with exhibition formats of varied thematic and aesthetic emphases and also to provide intellectual and emotional impulses through art in order to develop necessary visions for a common future.
