If All Time Is Eternally Present: Kandis Williams, Meriem Bennani & Orian Barki, Tai Shani
The Pier Luigi Nervi Foundation presents “If All Time Is Eternally Present”, a nocturnal exhibition of moving image works by Kandis Williams, Meriem Bennani & Orian Barki, and Tai Shani. Staged on the façade of Palazzo Nervi Scattolin as a Collateral Event of the 61st International Venice Biennale, the project fosters a dialogue between artistic practices and the built environment. The exhibition title, drawn from T. S. Eliot’s “Four Quartets”, explores the concept of “presentness” as a meeting point for past and future.
Kandis Williams presents “A Travel Guide: Black Gothic in South Korean Horror” (2025), a multi-source collage investigating power, surveillance, and intercultural resonances between Black and South Korean collective memories. Meriem Bennani & Orian Barki show “2 Lizards” (2020), an eight-part animated series refracting pandemic life in New York through anthropomorphic avatars. Tai Shani features “My Bodily Remains, Your Bodily Remains and All the Bodily Remains that Ever Were and Ever Will Be” (2023–2026), a speculative digital animation exploring collective embodiment and radical affect. By projecting these works onto the 1972 modernist exterior of the Palazzo, the exhibition transforms the building into a scenographic device.
